My French Open outfits

If I was playing the French Open maybe I would be a little true to the French attire. Not so much like Venus and her Moulin Rouge outfit, but maybe a little red, some layers, and some nice stripes. I dig it.

Celebrity Stylin' at the French

Salma Hayek loves tennis! Ok she has gone up in my fav celebrity rankings. I am sure she cares :) Either way, her and her hubz supporting tennis is good times!

Plus they are very styling, but a little matchy for my taste. Both in black blazers? Not so much. I do love that she is wearing the fedora.

Jaune!

Is French for yellow and it is definitely JAUNE at the French Open this year. More so on the men's side, but Jelena Jankovic shows up in a really pretty dress with a two tier skirt. Love it!

Watch Rafa! and his $525,000 watch

Rafael Nadal's new watch is sick!

Rafa won his match today. Now here are his Watch's stats:

a la yahoo sports:
…from Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille. The RM 027 Tourbillon was made specially for Nadal and features a carbon-composite case and lithium alloys, which are just fancy ways of saying that it's really, really light. It weighs just 20 grams (equivalent to about eight pennies) so Nadal can wear it during matches. The watch was given to him as part of a sponsorship deal, so it's not like Nadal went out to the mall and threw down his Black Card to pick it up.

The Weekend is SO BRIGHT

I gotta wear shades.

It's Official

Madewell.com is alive! I guess this isn't a huge deal for me since I live really close to one, but since I am a huge online bargain shopper, let the discounts begin.

Pretty in Purple

Now, I do like Maria's French Open outfit. The purple looks really nice off the clay and is complementary in color to the ball. :) It looks comfy and flattering at the same time. To top off her look she is sporting a barrette on each side with a ponytail braid. She did play a day match today and sometimes she does have different night outfits thanks to her sponsor Nike. But unless she plays a night match next, she may not be getting much further, because she is playing clay master Justine Henin.

Hot Pink Summer

Catch my favorite summer sandals in hot pink and on special at Dolce Vita. Of course they go with almost everything. Seriously. Oh FYI, I had to order a half size down. I wear a 7.5 and had to order a 7.

yeah…not so much!

Venus Williams' French Open outfit is a little racy even, I'm guessing, for French tennis standards. Black, lace, corset, red trim, faux see through…just doesn't seem very tennis. It is reported that it is Moulin Rouge inspired. I think if it is supposed to be a bold fashion statement it is too bold for the court. Maybe she should have just picked one or two of these elements and not the whole kitchen sink. I mean she is always being compared to Althea Gibson, who I can't ever see wearing this thing. What evs!

Melville Louis Kossuth (Melvil) Dewey (December 10, 1851 – December 26, 1931) was an American librarian and educator, inventor of the Dewey Decimal System of library classification, and a founder of the Lake Placid Club.

Organize your own Dewey Decimal with this awesome solid oak card catalog out of Clifton, TX. Thanks Ebay!

Great fit, super comfy. Find it here.

Nerdy Cute

The SNL guys definitely have the "nerdy cute" down. Are boyish good looks and vintage glasses a criteria these days? Maybe so.

oui, oui I am ready for the French Open

Well, so it is about 2 weeks away, but I am ready. When we switched satellite services we lost our Tennis Channel. You think I would be fine without it, but I really miss it. So now I am counting down for the second Slam of the year. To celebrate here is a vintage Lacoste poster, with some vintage 1980s Roland Garros posters.

Weekend Bag - I want you!

Saw the cutest weekend bag today. It is from an etsy seller called Death and Texas. Not crazy about the morbid part of the name, but love the Texas. Maybe they mean: they are to die for :) That is my Pollyanna mindset. Anyway, the railroad stripe/leather combo might be my new neutral.
